Not necessarily discounts, but even if you have bad credit quite a few places are willing to give you a loan for car. It’s easier to get a loan when you show them an LES showing how much you make and how many years you have left. They’re confident that they’re going to get their money, so they’ll take on even "high risk" people.

USAA is a financial company that does banking, loans, insurance for military families. Geico offers discounts as well. Other ones can but it is more dependent on your age, type of car, years driving.

Car dealerships can offer a discount but no guarantees. Go with a bank or credit union like USAA or Navy Federal for a loan, they can offer you decent rates. It is sometimes better to deal with them than the car dealerships when it comes to loans.

HA! Are you kidding? No, you don’t get any discounts on the purchase of a car by being in the military. Actually, the auto sales industry sees the military forces as a guaranteed way for income for selling cars. They "know" that every new soldier, sailor, airmen, or Marine, has a guaranteed income for 4 years to be able to make payments on a new car and that if they don’t pay the car company needs only to write a letter to that person’s Commanding Officer as military people are expected to financially handle their debts.

Now, I will tell you this: at Sam’s Club there are car dealerships that give Sam’s Club members a discount on new car purchases. Outside my local Sam’s Club is a poster with the names of about a half-dozen car dealers offering discounts to Sam’s Club members. A Sam’s Club membership costs $40 a year.

Car insurance? When I was a younger guy I had car insurance with GEICO. It was reasonable. But, over the years GEICO (which stood for Government Employees Insurance COmpany) branched out and began offering car insurance to civilians nationwide. Thus, the mixed different "pools" of insurance risks. The costs of insurance rose for all because most military people were only driving around ‘on-base’ most of the day at speeds lower than 25 mph, on average.
